Increase the walkability and connectivity of neighborhoods to civic amenities, schools, parks, greenways, and neighborhood employment and commercial areas.

Strengthen the various healthy food support programs focused within food deserts that provide technical assistance and financial incentives to existing store owners, encouraging them to stock and promote nutritious food options.

Expand the St. Louis MetroMarket, the Food Pantry and the Food as Medicine programs supported by St. Louis County to support or fund mobile farmers' markets and food trucks that bring fresh produce and healthy food options directly to underserved communities and in particular, seniors and children over summer holidays.

Allocate Community Development grants and low-interest loans to encourage community-driven initiatives, such as community gardens, community supported agriculture (CSA), urban farms, local corner stores, convenience stores, small markets or cooperative grocery stores for local residents to take an active role in addressing food access issues.

Invest in improved public transportation options to enhance residents' access to grocery stores outside their neighborhoods.
